Beaumaris Pram Race 2008

Another Beaumaris pram race, and above is the winning sheep shagging team, at the 'race' start.

Another couple of teams, a cheese pram.. and a car.

I have had a few people ask me how the house is coming along. Its going well, surprisingly well, in fact. But this gives me very little time to get online. If I told you that in the above sheep shaggers team is our plumber and central heating expert, and our joiner and double glazing fitter, then you will understand why there has been a gap in the work over this Christmas period. And a break has been much needed too.

We have had to get 37 windows for the place, some huge front doors, French windows, patio doors... plastering has been started...one central heating boiler has been bought, yesterday we bought a bathroom suite and an extra bog... and we have filled 3 skips with rubbish and more to dispose of. I have had to buy a Ford Transit for all the fetching and carrying. Its never ending, yet, its going well. We are looking to move into the annex, in about Feb or March, maybe...

The House

We have been having a lot of help from this kind person.. Malcolm... with his duster!

After a few requests, here you go. A few shots of the house. And its certainly a different sort of project to the rest, but also a place to settle...

Beaumaris goes Victorian

Beaumaris has put on a 'Victorian Evening' for several years and decided to improve and revamp it into a Victorian Day... well, an afternoon and an evening. Between filling skips and putting another demolished slab of kitchen on the fire, I managed a few mins to look around at about 5pm. I think my timing was a bit off. The parade was about 6pm, and I was relaxing waiting for someone to cook a Cordon Bleu instant meal by 6.

Beaumaris has had a problem with scaffolding and major road works for a few months now, but an effort was made to remove some of them, although agreement wasn't reached to stop all traffic passing through. Also, the castle wasn't lit up, and even the chippy wasn't open, but most people had tried their best and a good time was being had by all, when I went snapping.

The above picture shows a square, in front of a pub, a guitarist is playing, but its sort of devoid of people...

And now for the fake snow :D
