Lottery Win

Since I left my now ex-husband, I have avoided lotteries and feel smug that I have saved 6 or 7yrs of lottery ticket buying money, so I have therefore won more than most, without buying a ticket. I have bought an odd ticket when something has happened that made me feel I should gamble, but this is rare... very rare, like about 3 times in 7yrs.
But something happened 3 weeks ago, that made me think I ought to invest one pound in something with a bit of 'chance' in it.
I blame ASDA/Walmart!!

At long last, the promised ASDA, in Llangefni, has opened, and I must admit its a total disappointment. It is tiny... it has less on the shelves than any other supermarket on Anglesey and it is always packed, except the shelves which are often empty.
But, and this is ASDA's fault... I actually found a trolley that someone has forgotten to take the one pound deposit from its handle. I suppose I could have given it to charity... but... I decided that very coin would have to go on the Euro-lottery. I forgot the first week... then it was a panic for the next one... and I had to add my own money to buy more than one ticket.
They didn't win... so some kind person bought me the next weeks tickets.... so I had to buy the week afters tickets... BUT... the third week, we won!!!
Yes, I have now won a huge £6.40
I am not daring to work out how much that quid from the trolley has cost me... or the fact that my winnings are just a loss reduction. I don't think I am hooked on lotteries...

T'was a dark and wet night in Beaumaris

T'was a dark and wet night in Beaumaris, I coped womanfully with a longer stay in a well known hostelry, as I would have been soaked and even washed away by the torrential rain. I took this photo as the rain stopped for a few seconds.

A sort of Dickensian look to this shot... or maybe I am just being silly, but the road was like a river, it had slowed down a little just before this shot.

Plans and such...

There seems to be a longer and longer gap between each blog these days, but I am sorry, the future is looking bleak as there could be even longer gaps in future. Mum is likely to be coming out of her care home in about 2 weeks, so I am having one last ditch attempt to get back to Spalding this week, as I am really not sure when I will be able to again.
Its Mum's birthday tomorrow, she will be 85. Dad had his 88th birthday in October.
I had a look back at the earlier blogs, and I do admit it does seem that I am finding less to giggle at just now. But these things go in cycles, I am sure it will change once we get out of these winter doldrums.
I thought I would show you one of my newest friends from the George and Dragon in Beaumaris...
I could show you one or two of the more inebriated members of the Beaumaris community, but I will await a few quid in an envelope to buy my silence in these matters...

As time goes by... With Abba

It has been a while since I blogged, I have been online less recently, but this will be reduced even more now, Thanks to BT once again. They have disconnected my telephone completely and I seem to only be able to get online for short spells. I am told they will look into it by next Tuesday. We will see...
I now have all calls diverted to my mobile phone, which only gets a signal if I struggle. Its certainly almost useless when I am home.

It seems to be like this a lot in November, if you are interested, look at Nov 2005, and cold turkey and BT, Nov 19th 2005.

My parents have been continuing in care home, although mum had an infection which meant a few days in hospital, but that has now passed with no obvious long term problems. She is campaigning forcefully to escape from the care home which will mean I will not have any time to chat, write blogs or eat, once again. And as for a life... forget it!
Dad has had a fall or two, no long term effects, but dizziness and a shortness of breath are worrying.

Now.. the fun bit...

I found an old clip of a very old TV program, and this actually contains footage of Parys Mountain which is very close to me here. It has an old coppermine in it, which is being reopened. I can remember this sketch when it was new and had no idea I would be in Wales. The sketch itself is also still true today.. Failed in Wales! ....and Abba
